Yashna & Lloyd Winelands Proposal
On Wednesday 27 October, Lloyd asked the love of his life, Yashna, to marry him and she said yes!
Lloyd is originally from Cape Town and Yashna from Mauritius. They both live in Mauritius and were visiting Cape Town for a holiday for two weeks.
How it transpired
Lloyd contacted the Nearest & Dearest Events team to work their magic. He wanted to take Yashna to a quiet, intimate and secluded wine farm in the Winelands.
We put forward a concept proposal with a few location suggestions for farms in the Winelands area that offer picnics. Lloyd chose the beautiful wine farm, Hidden Valley, outside of Stellenbosch. This exquisite setting certainly offers the most spectacular views of the Helderberg and Stellenbosch Mountains, as well as a private picnic spot overlooking a dam.
We were worried about the forecasted rain leading up to the proposal. However, the day before it changed and was forecast for a warm and sunny day. Needless to say, we had the hottest day of the year yet and the weather was perfect for this special occasion!
We laid down a picnic blanket and decorated the path and private picnic spot with hundreds of bright pink rose petals. Yashna loves bold and bright colours so we arranged for a beautiful bright bouquet of flowers from a local florist.
The couple arrived and Lloyd led Yashna down the path, towards the spot overlooking the dam. Our lovely photographer Kirsty from Kirst Shoots was hiding behind a bush and ready to capture this special moment. Down on one knee, Lloyd asked Yashna to spend the rest of her life with him. She said YES!
Lloyd and Yashna took some time to relax and absorb in this magical moment before having a couple’s shoot. They enjoyed a lovely picnic and celebrated with some MCC.
Yashna & Lloyd Winelands Proposal was a very happy and memorable day.
