Jen & Ben’s Bali Wedding in the Winelands

Jen & Ben’s Bali Wedding in theWinelands was held between Summerhill Wine Estate and L’Avenir Wine Estate in Stellenbosch. The theme for their special day was, ‘Bali meets the Winelands’, and we most certainly hit the nail on the head with this!

It is hard to find the words to describe Jen & Ben’s style, but the combination of elements incorporated into their day, speak for themself and sum the couple up pretty well, with their love for nature and the ocean.

Slaley & Summerhill

The day started off with the couple getting ready at a nearby guesthouse called Slaley, with their bridal party. This guesthouse was Jenny’s grandfather’s house once-upon a time and where she spent a lot of time when she was little, so offered a sentimental place to get ready with her bridesmaid’s.

The couple chose to host the ceremony at Summerhill Wine Estate, as it is the Bride’s uncle’s farm and possesses a one-of-a-kind vineyard chapel, featuring wrought-iron structures, incorporating stained-glass windows and gorgeous vines, growing through the venue.

L’Avenir Estate

L’Avenir Estate, nestled next to Summerhill Wine Estate, truly is a hidden gem. With this in mind, it offered Jen and Ben a stunning venue for their pre-drinks and reception. This modern location boasts elegant water features, copper accents, and picturesque views of vineyards and a dam, without a doubt, making it the perfect fit for their theme.

With Ben growing up on the South Coast in Natal, consequently, the couple chose a tropical theme, incorporating palm leaves (both dried and fresh to create texture), white orchids and coconuts.

Sooner or later, the weather took a drastic turn and poured with rain for a short stint. Without delay, we had to think fast, and create a comfortable alternative pre-drinks set up for the guests. Without a doubt, our prayers were answered, and the tropical feel of the day was enhanced by the clearing skies.
