Odette & Robert Wedding | Mitre’s Edge
On 22 December 2019, Odette and Rob said I do!
Odette who is South African and a medical doctor by profession and Robert, a marine engineer from Holland, met and fell in love while working together on the cruise liners.
It was important for them to share their incredible moment with their family and closest friends, as it was the first time both families were meeting. They wanted a rustic, but elegant wedding in the winelands, in an open outdoor setting with lots of fairy lights.
Beautiful Boutique Romance
As passionate wine and foodies, they chose the beautiful boutique wine farm, Mitre’s Edge as their wedding venue. The couple decided on something slightly different to a bachelor and bachelorette party and instead Rob went wine tasting with all the men and Odette with the ladies. At lunchtime the two parties met up and celebrated together for the rest of the day. They later came back to Mitre’s Edge to continue the celebrations and have a braai with all their guests.
Dinner, Dancing And Private Courtyards
The ceremony took place in the private courtyard of the manor house, filled with white paper parasols hanging from the overhead string of lights. After drinks and canapes around the pool, the bridal party made their way to the garden for dinner and dancing.
Their wedding cake was a nautical-themed carrot cake to symbolize how they met and their first dance took place with all the guests holding sparklers around them!
It was such an honour to work with Odette and Rob and to be part of their magical day. We wish them all the happiness for their future together!
